GOSSELIN: Eugene, of St. Johnsbury, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 77 years.

He was born in St. Johnsbury, Feb. 8, 1924, the son of Donald and Millicent (Jacques) Gosselin. Mr. Gosselin served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy.

A longtime employee of Fairbanks Scales, Mr. Gosselin was a member of American Legion No. 58 and VFW Post 793, both of St. Johnsbury.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially enjoyed helping other people.

Survivors include three sisters: Gertrude Simons of West Burke, Louise Smith of Manchester, N.H., and Gloria Robillard of Brownington; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Gosselin in 1994, and a sister Irene Gosselin in 1942.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Monday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. Spring burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public visiting hours.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center, Residents Activity Fund, Hospital Drive, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.

Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer St., St. Johnsbury, is in charge of the arrangements.
