Nelson A. Stevens

Nelson (Pete) Stevens of Ocala, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 24, 2018, after a lung-related illness. He was 74.

He was born Oct. 5, 1944, to Mae Elizabeth Stevens and Clayton Percy in Newport, Vt.

Pete (name we knew him by) and his brother, Joe, grew up in Newark, Vt. on a farm.

He is predeceased by his mother and dad as well as his brother, Joe.

He is survived by his wife Sherry, of Ocala, Florida and his son Randy and wife Emily Stevens of Sheffield, Vt., and his daughter Cindi Stevens of St. Johnsbury, Vt., as well as their mother, Susan, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., and two grandchildren, Aaron and Jodi, his sister-in-law Marlene and his nieces and nephews and cousins.

Pete was a man who wore many hats working for several companies, as well as the state of Vermont. He owned a box company in St. Johnsbury and a T-shirt company in Ocala, Fla. He also found time to serve in the military (U.S. Army).

Pete loved life and he loved the Lord, whom he served in several churches, finally serving on the board of directors of Christian Life Assembly, Ocala, Fla.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at Lyndon Full Gospel Assembly of God, in the Tom Breslin Center in Lyndonville, Vt., on Feb. 21, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
