PEAVEY: James H., 72, of Goshen Road in Bradford, Vt., died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

He was born Sept. 19, 1931, in Woodsville, N.H., the son of James and Pearl (Green) Peavey. He attended schools in Newbury, Vt.

He owned and operated Corner Country Store and Jim\'s Country Store in Hanover, N.H. He also owned and operated Sharon Beef in Sharon, Vt. Jim enjoyed raising beef cattle, attending auctions, and buying and selling beef cattle and horses. He also enjoyed attending fairs, especially horse pulls, and visiting with people.

Family was very important to Jim and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by three sons, James E. Peavey of Sharon, Vt., John P. Peavey of Orford, N.H., and Jeffery G. Peavey of Lebanon, N.H.; his companion of 34 years, Jean T. Henderson of Bradford, Vt.; three sisters, Jean Shepherd of Lyme, N.H., Joann Wheeler of West Newbury, Vt., and June Beliveau of Windsor Locks, Conn.; one brother, Delbert Peavey of Enfield, N.H.; seven grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at 1 p.m., in the West Newbury Town Hall in West Newbury, Vt. Burial will be private and held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim\'s memory may be made to the Spring Hill Horse Rescue, 2617 Union Street, Brandon, VT 05733.

The Hale Funeral Home of Bradford, Vt., is in charge of arrangements.
