Alyssa Edwards and Nathan Powers Jr. of Pittsburg, Pa., announce their engagement.
Alyssa is the daughter of Robert and Patricia Edwards, of Smicksburg, Pennsylvania. She is a 2007 graduate of Marion Center High School, and a 2011 graduate of Saint Francis University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. Alyssa received her Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology, Health and Physical Activity and Chronic Disease in 2012 from the University of Pittsburgh.
She is employed full-time as a clinical exercise physiologist at the Comprehensive Lung Center at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Nathan is the son of Karen Powers and Darin Martell and the late Nathan Powers Sr., of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Lyndonville, Vt.
Nathan is a 2005 graduate of Lyndon Institute in Lyndonville, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Nathan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2012. He is employed full-time as a police officer at the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
The wedding is planned for May 16, 2020, at the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Pittsburgh, with a reception to follow at The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Cranberry Township.
