LITTLETON, N.H. -- The Littleton Food Co-op will partner with the Littleton Rotary Club in March to raise funds and awareness for Rotary's local work. As the Co-op's Partner of the Month, Rotary will receive all donations collected in the checkout canisters through the month, as well as $1 from every deli-made pizza sold during the Co-op's Pizza and a Partner Night, March 23.
"We're pleased to work with Rotary this month, as the club prepares to kick off its 47th Annual Auction, which raises scholarship funds for local high school students," said Co-op Manager and Rotary member Ed King. "We're grateful for the continued generosity of our Co-op shoppers, who help us support a different area nonprofit group each month."
The Littleton Rotary Club is an affiliate of Rotary International, which strives to provide humanitarian service in the community, the workplace, and throughout the world by fostering local community service projects. Littleton Rotary efforts include picking up litter along local roads, partnering with the Littleton Lions Club in the annual Santa program, purchasing personalized books for a local school, and donating to local food pantries.
The annual online auction, which begins April 6 and includes numerous items contributed by local businesses and individuals, raises money to provide scholarships to area high school students. A live auction will be held April 21. Since its inception, the Rotary auction has garnered more than $400,000 for the scholarship program. This year Rotary has a goal of raising $40,000 of scholarship funds.
