Local Church Hosting Free Weeks Of ‘Kids Camp’

The Union Baptist Church on Route 5 in Waterford will be holding two week-long kids camps this summer. The theme is "Shipwrecked."

WATERFORD — The Union Baptist Church, just south of the town line with St. Johnsbury on Route 5 is holding two weeks of Kingdom’s Kids Camp this summer. The weeks, June 24-28 and August 12-16, both offer daylong activities at no charge.

The camp is open for kids age preschool (must be potty-trained) through grade 6.

Organizers urge parents and guardians to sign children up for only one of the weeks. “The material will be the same both weeks and we want to be sure we have as much opportunity to have many different children at KKC as possible,” organizers noted. Those families who want to attend both weeks can e-mail rmckinney@ubcstj.org to be placed on a waitlist for an opportunity to attend both weeks.

With “Shipwrecked,” children will venture onto an uncharted island as “castaways” where they learn there is a rescue from every storm in life, the organizers stated. “They’ll learn to hold onto promises when they are lonely, they worry, they struggle, do wrong, and feel powerless.”

The day’s events will include crafts, a movie or outdoor games.

All childcare workers at the event have been trained and had background checks performed.

This event will be limited to 100 kids each week, so please register early if you plan to have your child attend.

Register by going online at www.ubcstj.org.
