Lyndon State College Upward Bound student Joshua Coville has been awarded the Patrick Scholarship as part of his recent acceptance to the University of Vermont. This scholarship amounts to $12,000 over four years of college. The Patrick Scholarship is an academic merit scholarship awarded to many of Vermont's strongest students, and was established through a gift made by the family of the late Genevieve Patrick.

Joshua Coville is a senior this year at Craftsbury Academy and has been a dedicated four-year member of LSC Upward Bound. Josh is the three-sport athlete and an academic leader in his school. Josh has also spent the last three summers living on the LSC campus taking college preparatory courses and volunteering in his community. He has given over 200 hours of service through his role as creative director of the Upward Bound summer video, and in his final summer as a volunteer at the Riverside Life Enrichment Center in Lyndonville.

Josh was also selected to represent Upward Bound at the 2014 Vermont TRiO Day at the Statehouse celebration in Montpelier where he met with local representatives and shared his experiences growing up in the Northeast Kingdom. Josh hopes to pursue a career in an engineering field and working with computers.

Joshua is the son of Kris and Glenn Coville of Craftsbury.
