ANNUAL SPELLING BEE AT LTS -- Lyndon Town School held its annual Scripps Spelling Bee on Feb. 11. Under the tutelage of Spelling Club advisor Darcy Townsend, students spent many Wednesdays after school practicing their spelling with games, activities and mock bees. Sponsored by the LTS PTG, local author David Stahler pronounced the words while a panel of three judges determined the correctness of the spelling. The runners-up and winner received prize bags filled with fun spelling related items, including a huge Spelling Bee practice book for this year's winner Wilson Krause. He will represent LTS at the state bee in Montpelier. Participants include: front row from left, Alida Apgar, Elizabeth Gallagher and Monica Shimamura; back row, Gemma Stowell, Grace Ulrich, Kaede Shimamura, Rowan Hartwell, Ben Krause, Julian Thrailkill and Wilson Krause.
