Although only 23 students opted to attend the cap and gown ceremonies in Newport and Waterford in late June, 123 students graduated in all this year from Northeast Kingdom Learning Services' High School Completion, Adult Diploma and GED programs.
There were two graduation ceremonies. In the Newport area it took place at the East Side Restaurant, and in the St. Johnsbury area it took place at Union Baptist Church in Waterford.
NEKLS director of Data and Assessments, Chris Hardy said 63 graduates came through the High School Completion Program, 58 through the GED program and 2 from the Adult Diploma Program.
The graduates were a wide range of ages since it's never too late to strive for and reach goals. Learn more about NEKLS services at www.neklsvt.org.
