ENCORE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM -- Students at Brighton Elementary School in Island Pond participate in the Encore After School Program. The goals of the program are to: achieve improvements in math, reading and language performance; provide programming that promotes positive attitudes toward academic achievement and lifelong learning; provide lifelong physical activities that promote healthy lifestyles. Encore serves 95 percent of Brighton's student population; 83 students served in grades 1-8. Encore continues to offer a variety of program choices such as gardening, fitness, Kindle Club, Percussion Plus, Newspaper Club, Learning-to-learn, Winter & Outdoor Fun, Lets Bake Bread, Art Club, Math Games, Cartooning, Learning Kitchen, IROC Swim, art programs and IROC swim.
