Six Lyndon State College Upward Bound students were recently selected to attend the 21st annual New England Student Leadership Conference at the Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, Vt., Sept. 27-29. The three-day conference brought together more than 60 emerging high school leaders from all over New England for workshops designed to foster leadership skills. Students participated in the Eclipse Challenge, a workshop where students attempt to balance the federal budget, a high ropes course adventure, and a leadership workshop. Students were encouraged to set personal and community goals as well as develop their leadership skills and bring those new skills back to create positive change in their schools, in their communities, and in their own lives as they prepare for postsecondary education.
