NEWPORT CITY -- The city will conduct a property reappraisal in 2015.

The reappraisal will keep property values current, especially adding changes downtown with the sales of the Spates block and property for Maplefields.

The council picked the bid by Vision Government Solutions Inc. at $177,000, which will be covered almost entirely through a reappraisal sinking fund. The city council is expected to review a contract with the firm before granting final approval.
