NEWPORT -- The Parents' Association Bake Sale will take place this Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. All the proceeds from the bake sale are going to the E. Goss Memorial Scholarship Fund given by the UCA Parents' Association to an eligible graduating UCA senior.

The UCA Christmas Concert will take place on Dec. 8 at The Church of God.

The Jay Peak Ski Program for grades 4-12 begins Dec. 9. Alyssa DeLaBruere is the ski program coordinator.

UCA will be undertaking the Christmas for Vermonters Project. The goal is to be able to help at least 20 Vermont families with gift cards in the amount of $100 per family. Donations to this project will help Vermonters who are still struggling from the impact of Tropical Storm Irene. Donations will be accepted up until Dec. 12. For more information, call the school at (802) 334-3112.

The PA will again host Mall Madness this year for the grammar school kids on Dec. 16. Mall Madness is a fun shopping experience for the students in grades K-6. They get to shop for gifts for their families and have their gifts wrapped while they eat cookies and listen to Christmas music. Items cost just $.25 and it is a great opportunity for the kids to surprise their loved ones. There will be a box in the front hallway for any donations of new or like new items for the children to purchase, as well as wrapping paper and bows. Also, there will be a sign up sheet on the bulletin board for any parents interested in coming in to help wrap gifts.

Calendar of events: Dec. 22, Red & Green Day, noon dismissal; Dec. 23-30, Christmas Vacation; Jan. 2, New Year's Day Holiday; Jan. 3, school resumes from Christmas Vacation.
