Selected to move on to the school-wide event were: Andrew Hegarty (Grade 8), Jasper Rankin (Grade 8), Ethan Biggie (Grade 7), Matthew Thomas (Grade 7), Mark Ghafoori (Grade 6), Julian Stahler (Grade 6), Luke Morris (Grade 5), Gavin Ghafoori (Grade 5), Dimitri Fischer (Grade 4), Lily Seale (Grade 4), Paxton Smith (Grade 3) and Genevieve Hatch (Grade 3).
After many rounds of intense spelling, the first-, second- and third-place winners are: Gavin Ghafoori, first place, spelling the word "rejuvenate"; Matthew Thomas, second place; and Lily Seal, third place. Gavin Ghafoori will move to compete in the Vermont State Competition on March 19 at St. Michael's College at 3:30 p.m. Mathew Thomas will be his alternate.
