In spite of a "cold" day that cancelled the Tacky Day Dress Up, Lyndon Town School sixth, seventh and eighth graders celebrated a fun-filled Winter Carnival Week in the days before February break.
Dress-Up days, a food drive, a hallway decorating contest and the first ever Outdoor Redneck Olympics were just some of the events scheduled. Each grade competed for points to win bragging rights for the next year. This year's seventh grade students walked away with the first place overall win.
One of the events of the week was the long-running Chez Dilley Box Lunch Auction to benefit HOPE, which raised over $200 with the help of auctioneer Dave Lussier. But it was the 15th annual Vicki Campbell Beer Memorial volleyball tournament that proved to be the highlight of the week. Teams competed by grade level in a play-off all-afternoon tournament that ultimately lead to a showdown of eighth graders vs. faculty. Although the faculty members tried their best, they were no match for the team of "Those Guys!"
