WHITEFIELD, NH -- Mountain View Academy students are in New Your City Nov. 8-11 to attend the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show, the largest event of the hospitality industry. More than 20,000 hospitality experts, hoteliers, vendors and schools come together at this event at the Jacob Javits Conference Center. Students plan to attend STOMP at the Orpheum Theater; visit the Museum of Natural History; walk through Central Park and Times Square; and do a number of property assessments on some of the grandest hotels in New York City. The Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa is the financial sponsor of the students' trip.

The Spanish Club will host their third annual Spanish Night to celebrate Hispanic culture on Nov. 13 from 6-8 p.m. This year's proceeds will support the service learning trip to the Dominican Republic in February 2015. Admission is $5. Donations will be accepted and are appreciated.

The Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) will be hosting the Northern New England Drill League Championship Nov. 15 at White Mountains Regional High School starting at 8 a.m. At least six teams from New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine will be participating. The community is invited to attend. Admission is free and breakfast and lunch items will be available for purchase.
