A free theatrical performance featuring master storyteller Odds Bodkin will take place on Dec. 6 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in the Great Hall at The White Mountain School on West Farm Road in Bethlehem, N.H.
Bodkin carries a large repertoire of folk tales from cultures around the world, an extensive collection of Greek Myths, American and New England folklore, ghost stories and teaching fables, all performed with live original music, character voices, vocal effects and narration.
On Dec. 6 he will perform "The Odyssey: Belly of the Beast." In this performance he takes audience members into the mind of Odysseus, first trapped in the Trojan Horse, then to Ismaros, Isle of the Lotus Eaters, and finally into - and out of - the terrifying cave of the Cyclops. Vivid, disturbing and beautiful, the tale is accompanied throughout with Bodkin's score on a modal 12-string guitar.
The performance is free and open to the public; however, donations will be gratefully accepted and used to support future Cultural Events at The White Mountain School.
