I believe that last year was a successful year for our school due to collaborative efforts of students, parents, community members and school staff. My focus throughout the summer planning has been to build on the positive attributes from last year and address the challenges facing our school in a meaningful manner, and I am fortunate to have the support of our school secretary, custodians, leadership team and CNSU (Caledonia-North Supervisory Union). It is a pleasure to anticipate the opening day and arrival of our students for another year of learning and growing together.

The second annual Welcome Back Dragons Day is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 26, starting at 5:30 p.m. and concluding at 7. The program will start with introduction of all school staff, as well as several school based programs and changes being implemented during the upcoming school year. A barbecue dinner will be provided and the fire department has agreed to grill again this year. The community is encouraged to join us for this very important day to kick off the school year.

Monday, Aug. 25 is the first staff day. Thursday, Aug. 28 is the first day of school for K-8 students and school begins at 8 a.m. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 7:55 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29 is Pre-School Open House, and the first day for pre-school students will be Tuesday, Sept. 2. The hours for pre-school, as well as the open house, are from 8 to 10:45 a.m. On the first day of school students will receive several informative documents. We will also make school-related information available on our school website,

As always I look forward to your active participation in your child's education and the operations of your school and school district.
