NEWPORT -- United Christian Academy Upper School and Kindergarten students began the start of the new year with a special concert performed by the Word of Life Impact Team on Jan. 20. This group of 10 young men shared music, testimonies and a meditation from the Word of God with students. All are currently enrolled in the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY.

In December the Vermont Symphony Orchestra string trio known as "Fiddlestix" performed at UCA for the student body. In addition to teaching students about the various stringed instruments of the orchestra, Madeline Lippmann, daughter of Dr. John and Wendy Lippmann, became a performer. A special highlight for UCA students was a compliment to the school from the musicians themselves. Having performed this concert over 900 times in the past they named the UCA student body as one of the top 10 most courteous audiences ever!

Throughout January, UCA collected funds to help children in Kenya through the Kenya Children's Fund. The school's current total is eight children sponsored thus far. All contributions are tax-deductible. To assist in this project simply make out a check to UCA and earmark it Kenya Children's Fund.

United Christian Academy will be holding it's grammar school Science Fair March 7 after school from 3:15--5 p.m.

UCA has some benches that are in need of repair and refinishing. Are you that someone who has these skills and is willing to donate your time and talent to help spruce them up? If you are the one or know someone who can, contact the UCA office, 334-3112.
