Students attending the Kingdom Afterschool Program at Newark Street School are now served an "expanded snack" through the sponsorship of the U. S. Department of Agriculture funded Child and Adult Care Food Program. Students are served from a daily snack menu which includes food from five rather than two food groups.

Afterschool students at Lyndon Town School's After The Bell program have been enjoying the larger snacks since the program opened for the year on Sept. 9. The snacks at both schools are prepared by the school food service provider, The Abbey Group. The additional food gives students a more nutritious snack to fuel them through their afternoon activities such as homework and sports.
