I'm voting for Katherine Sims

To the Editor:

I'm writing to express my enthusiastic support for Katherine Sims for State Representative. It matters to me who represents the people in Eden, Lowell, Westfield, Jay and Troy, not just because I represented Eden and Johnson for nearly a decade, but because this election is about who is best prepared to be an effective State Representative at a time when big changes are coming.

I've gotten to know Katherine over the past few months and I have to say I'm impressed. I know she's working hard to meet as many of you as possible in your door yards and on your porches. She has an inquisitive mind; she likes to weigh the pros and cons of all sides of an issue before making a decision. She has made challenging decisions in her life, and will bring both her mind and her experience to the job in Montpelier.

At a time when Vermonters feel alienated and distant from the goings on in Montpelier, Katherine will bring the issues she'll be wrestling with back home to you. In turn, she will also bring the issues you are wrestling with back to Montpelier. With the proposed business growth in this district, there will be many important decisions to be made at both the state and local levels. Katherine is the right person to represent you as you make what will be some very challenging decisions.

We need Katherine's energy, insight and hard work in Montpelier and I hope you will join me in supporting Katherine Sims for State Representative on November 6.

Floyd Nease

(Former State Representative for Johnson and Eden)
