Burke Officials Pursuing Two Property Complaints

BURKE — The Burke Select Board is hiring an attorney to pursue two ongoing issues with properties owned by Rick Schwag and David Ruggles, both in West Burke.

The Schwag property, located at 45 Route 5A, (the old post office) is in violation with the fire marshal’s office, said Burke Zoning Administrator Michael Harris. The property was also issued a zoning violation letter a few months ago for lack of fire marshal approvals. Harris said someone is living on the third floor of the structure and should not be.
