“Deaths Of Despair” Presentation Highlights N.H. Struggles With Addiction, Depression

LITTLETON — As New Hampshire - still ranked in the top states for opioid addiction and per capita overdose deaths - fights to turn the tide on the opioid crisis, it is challenged with a creeping and less talked-about epidemic - “deaths of despair.”

That’s what Peter Glenshaw, vice-president for external affairs at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, in Lebanon, called the growing number of Granite State deaths that are related to alcohol and suicide and are part of the larger story on addiction and depression.
