A St. Johnsbury man has been convicted by plea agreement in connection with a July incident in which he fled state police down Interstate 91 before crashing into a St. Johnsbury Police cruiser.

Benjamin Lomasney, 46, of St. Johnsbury, pleaded guilty on Monday to drunken driving and attempting to elude in exchange for a sentence of 1-3 years all suspended except for 20 days on the work crew and $504 in court surcharges. The state dismissed charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and negligent operation of a motor vehicle as part of the plea agreement.
