BETHLEHEM — Although the new landfill proposed by Casella Waste Systems is planned for Dalton, a Dalton resident in Forest Lake is asking Bethlehem planners to weigh in on a development he said would impact more than just one town.

Speaking to members of the Bethlehem Planning Board on Wednesday, Jon Swan, a member of a new landfill opposition group called Save Forest Lake, squandered no time taking aim at Casella. He charged the company with making an “unethical start” during its request for a lot line adjustment, which in April was ultimately rejected by the Dalton Planning Board.
