PITTSBURG — The Falls in the River Trail between First and Second Connecticut Lakes is scheduled to get new bog bridge spans on Saturday. The Cohos Trail Association, that built and maintains the footpath, will hold a trailwork day beginning at 9 a.m. at Route 3 mile marker 233.

The workday will entail moving dried 10-foot-long 4x4 timbers from the highway down to the work site. Once the materials are moved, new bog bridge spans will be spiked together and covered with poultry wire to create a non-skid surface to walk on.
