A Newport Center resident was arrested in connection with the theft of puppies in Coventry.
Police say three, six-week-old puppies were stolen from their outdoor enclosure on Nebelski Road on July 25. The puppies were described as a German Shepard/black and tan coonhound mix. Two of the puppies were located at a property on Route 105 in Newport Center, and police charged Tamieka Demo, 20, of Newport Center, with larceny in the case.
Demo was cited to answer the offense on Sept. 20 in Orleans County Court. One of the puppies is still unaccounted for and its whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information should contact the state police Derby barracks.
