Newport City Water Below Allowed PFAS Levels, Official Says

NEWPORT CITY — The city tested its drinking water and found no problems with PFAS, emerging contaminants that have prompted testing and concerns statewide.

The city’s water, from a deep aquifer, is “well below any limits” when it comes to testing for PFAS (per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances), says Tom Bernier, the public works director.
