The U.S. Department of Agriculture this week announced that over $9.3 million was being invested in rural businesses and mentioned a project by a local logger as one of just four projects highlighted in the nationally distributed release.

All told USDA issued about 650 grants nation-wide ranging in value from $2,000 to $20,000 to farmers, Ag producers and rural-based businesses and institutions to help lower energy costs through the Rural Energy for America Program.
