A Lyndon man was charged with possession of illegal moose after Fish and Wildlife seized about 75 pounds of meat from his home early Wednesday afternoon.
F & amp;W Warden Don Gregory executed a search warrant at the Bean Pond Road home of Cary Hunter, 32, and removed the moose meat.
The seizure concludes a case Gregory has been investigating since May 25, when Hunter allegedly shot the moose with a gun in Lyndon.
Hunter will be arraigned in Caledonia District Court on July 14.
If he is found guilty of the charge, Hunter could face a fine of between $200 and $500, a replacement cost of up to $1,000, and up to a three-year loss of his hunting, fishing and trapping privileges.
