STANDISH, Maine (AP) — Police say a pedestrian was killed by a car that careened off the road and struck her in Standish, Maine.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department says 69-year-old Eileen Garroway, of Standish, was pronounced dead at the scene Monday afternoon.
Police are investigating the crash.
They say the preliminary investigation indicates 20-year-old Nicholas Breed was behind the wheel of a car that left the roadway.
