A Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of 10 St. Johnsbury Academy students, all but one of them dormitory residents, who were caught with alcohol while partying behind the Central Vemont Public Service building on Route 5, Friday night around 9:05.
Arrested were Sarah Lazar, 18, Saudi Arabia; David Rashkin, 18, Virginia; Carlos Ferrer, 18, Spain; Marc Gonzalez, 20, Spain; Edwardo Sanchez, 19, Spain; Jennifer Hill, 17, Saudi Arabia; Alex Ansted, 18, Connecticut;Stefan Piasecki,17, Quebec; and Michael Ciccariello, 18, New York.
An unidentified 14-year-old, the only non-dormitory student, was also charged and will be processed through the juvenile court system.
Responding officers found the teens consuming whiskey, beer and Boone's Farm ~ne. Numerous hottles of alcohol were seized.
Police said Ciccariello was found to have purchased the liquor at a Lyndonville store, and he was subsequently charged with nine counts of providing alcohol to minors.
The sale of alcoholic beverages to Ciccariello is still being investigated and additional charges may be forthcoming.
The dorm students were released to the custody of Jerry Aldrich, who is in charge of resident students at the Academy. The juvenile was released to her father.
Academy officials were not available for comment this morning. SJA personnel said the students were scheduledforarraignment in Caledonia District Court today.
