PAWLET, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police say a Pawlet man has died in an ATV crash.

Police say 72-year-old Richard Morey was reported missing on Wednesday night, hours after he had gone out for an ATV ride earlier in the day and not returned.

Members of the Pawlet Fire Department on ATVs found Morey in the woods.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that Morey had lost control of the ATV in the woods and rolled it down an embankment.

Police say he died of his injuries.
