Casino in the White Mountains
To the Editor:
Recently there has been a good deal of talk from local State Representatives and State Senators in the White Mountains region regarding their support of gaming, and a casino in the White Mountains to be specific. Unfortunately, talk is cheap.
Just a few months I ago I offered HB 665, which would have allowed for the construction and operation of two destination casinos in the state. One of these casinos would be in a county bordering Massachusetts, and the other would be White Mountains region. This bill would have provided for millions of dollars in revenue for the state while also helping to employ thousands of granite staters through construction and long-term full time jobs.
So how did the Democrat majority party vote? Well, over 80% of them voted to kill the bill including nearly all of the Democrat State Representatives who represent the White Mountains region. It seems that they talk and write articles different than they vote.
