To the Editor:
The Tuesday, Nov. 27 issue of The Caledonian-Record & #039;s In My Opinion states: "The introduction to (the Hogan Commission Report) report reads like the introduction to a Bernie Sanders-Cheryl Rivers socialized-medicine tract: ÔWe do not have a health care system in Vermont. No one is in control. No one is responsible for ensuring that high quality medical care is adequate for the needs of the public É There is no global budgeting (or) public accountability & #039; for health care institutions."
Up to this point I would agree.
The article continues: "At this point the logical reader would naturally expect the conclusion: ÔTherefore, we (the government) must take control. Vermont needs a Health Care Czar who will make sure everybody gets all the high quality care the government thinks they need, all the charges are appropriate, all budgeting is under government control, and everything not required is prohibited. & #039;"
It sounds more like this is the author & #039;s opinion.
