To the Editor:

There was an article that I read that stated a federal judge had ordered the FEC to reconsider its refusal to regulate so-called 527 groups. These groups have been growing over the years, as well as their spending limits, which basically have no limits at all. The article also stated that during the last election phase, the 527's for the Democrats significantly outspent the groups supporting Republicans. With the issue on the rise, I commend Rich Tarrant for his stance on not accepting money from these groups, and his request of Sanders to join him in this effort.

I can appreciate the role that these 527's have, but I also think that seeing these two political figures without all the clout will enable Vermonters to make the right choice in November.

Sincerely,

Ralph Boyd
