The Border Patrol are not supposed to fight back?

To the Editor:

In case anyone missed it, recently the Department of Homeland Security, in a training video, instructed the border patrol agents to literally run and hide when encountering a gunman. They are then supposed to try to contact local law enforcement for help. I am not making this up. It was on the news and can be found on the Internet.

Needless to say, the border patrol agents were livid over this and who can blame them? These are armed agents who are professionally trained to protect our borders from danger. This is their job. So let's say a gunman storms over the border and starts shooting civilians. According to this instruction the agent is supposed to call for help and hide. Then as a last resort, if cornered, he should become aggressive and start throwing things. You've got to be kidding me!

People can be getting slaughtered and the agent is supposed to just throw things. We NEVER saw any policy like this in our history until Obama became president. Now connect the dots. Eric Holder is stonewalling on the Fast and Furious documents. Then Obama's Department of Justice sues Florida for trying to purge non-citizens from their voter registration lists. Now the Department of Homeland Security is instructing the Border Patrol to just let armed gunmen roll on through without fighting them.

Meanwhile, Obama is pushing for a large nuclear missile reduction. (Can we afford to reduce ours while Iran, China and North Korea are building up their own?) A while ago, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that the proposed military cuts would leave us vulnerable for terrorist attacks. Let us not forget that the Obama immediately went after closing our CIA bases when he first got into office. The President's job is supposed to protect our country and citizens. It seems that Obama has a whole other agenda for our country.
