Tribute to Kirk Brisson
To the Editor:
As the years move on for The Baby Boomers, the inevitable news of the deaths of contemporaries also follow as night shadows gradually creep over the day. Yet, the recent passing of Kirk Brisson at age 51 was a difficult bit of news to read of in The Caledonian-Record. Kirk was a classmate of mine from Frank R. Adams School beginning in September 1966 on through graduation at St. Johnsbury Academy in the Class of 1978. He was always very precocious in terms of discussing politics and finance from middle school days on through SJA; was possessed of a delightfully witty humor; and was a reliable and enthusiastic member of Academy Theater and The Academy Student newspaper. Earlier in his life tennis and later in his life fishing were his recreational avocations.
Though he left St. Johnsbury and lived for a time in Washington, DC; moved on to a career as a state bank examiner in Montpelier; and resided in Stowe and Morrisville during his adult years, Kirk Brisson demonstrated the "old school St. Johnsbury" mettle of his birth throughout the rest of his adult life as an active member of the Republican Party in Central Vermont and with his participation in and devotion to the Boy Scouts of America Green Mountain Council.
God rest the soul of Kirk Andrew Brisson and may light perpetual shine upon him.
