Littleton High School's Future Business Leaders of America have done it again. For the fifth consecutive year they have earned a Gold Seal Chapter Award at the annual State Leadership Conference, ranking them second in the state.
The chapter attended the annual SLC at the end of March in Manchester, N.H. where students competed in individual and team events. Competitions included Job Interview, Public Speaking, E-Portfolio, Web Site Design, Business Presentation, Community Service Report, Annual Business Report, and Digital Design and Promotion.
Five of the six teams that competed placed either first, or first with distinction. Senior member Heather Fillion commented, "The judges were extremely tough this year; it's an honor that so many teams placed first."
The chapter was led by advisor and business teacher Erica Antonucci. The teams who placed first will continue on to nationals, which will be held in Anaheim, Calif. this year.
Senior Dori Horne said, "It's exciting to know that all of our hard work paid off and we'll get to continue on to an even higher level of competition."
The conference also hosted business related workshops, one of which included meeting and interacting with New Hampshire entrepreneurs from SurfSet Fitness, which was featured on the ABC hit show, Shark Tank. Freshman member Allie Horne said, "The SLC was a great learning experience. I'm excited not only for nationals, but for next year's competition as well."
Five members of Littleton FBLA will now travel to the National Leadership Conference this June in Anaheim.
