BUILDING PEACE -- Lafayette Regional School in Franconia, N.H. celebrated International Peace Day on Sept. 24. Students at the Kindergarten- through 6th-grade school spent the first weeks of the school year discussing peaceful actions and words and the concept that peace is a path to happiness in their everyday lives. Students also created pinwheels and peace flags and worked together in mixed age groups to construct the letters of "Building Peace 2013." Their efforts culminated in presentations of poetry, music, and images shared during a school-wide assembly.
