ORLEANS -- The Lake Region Union High School Cheerleaders are hosting a fundraiser in November and December. The idea is to seek donations to fill up a Winter Lotto Calendar and give away a prize of $25 (including cash prizes) or more for each day during the month of January. The athletes will be selling the calendar/tickets for $10 each. Winning tickets are placed back into the raffle, so each ticket holder will have 31 chances to win. This is a great holiday stuffer or gift.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the LR Cheerleading program for much needed equipment (mats & mirrors), safety training, workshops, competitions and stunt conferences.

The program has struggled for players to form a team and reach ability for competition in years past. As the new coach, Tami Wesoja has set some goals and would like to regain the succession of the program, as well as continued learning and skills for these young women; encourage and promote healthy lifestyles, valued leadership, confidence, self-esteem and respect. As these students learn and grow so will the team providing, enhancing and upholding the school spirit, good sportsmanship, unification and crowd involvement during athletic events.

Any contribution/donation that an organization could offer would be appreciated. Contributions can be mailed to: Lake Region Union High School, Cheerleading Sports Program, 317 Lake Region Rd., Orleans, VT 05860, indicate "LR CHEER fundraiser." For more information, contact Tami Wesoja, 754-2500, ext. 311.
