DECA TRIP TO WASHINGTON, DC -- A group of North Country DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) students attended the North Atlantic Region Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 20. Students participated in four one-hour workshops where speakers gave presentations on how to prepare for college and the real world. The workshops ranged from how to succeed in DECA competitions, community service fundraising, and retail and sales management skills. Students participated in a "role playing" which helped to develop better communication skills. Many colleges and businesses were represented that gave information about their schools, marketing programs, the process of applying for schools and jobs, as well as expectations. During the trip students toured the White House, the National Mall, and on the last night went on a night tour of the city and the National Monuments. Attending were, from left, Phoenix Alix, Missy Morse, Domenica Frascoia, Hunter Stanley, Mykayla Tanguay, Justin Berthiaume and Brittany Fortier.
