The administration, faculty and staff of Littleton High School and Daisy Bronson Middle School will welcome students in grades 7 through 12 for the 2015-2016 school year on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The school day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 2:40 p.m. Throughout this school year, we will continue to keep students, parents, and community members informed about our programs and activities through the use of the district website at www.littletonschools.org, newsletters, Power School, SchoolMessenger, newspapers, and Channel 2. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to your involvement in the educational and co-curricular offerings at Littleton High School and Daisy Bronson Middle School.

Grade 7 Orientation: We will be hosting an orientation for 7th grade students on Monday, Aug. 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. At this time, students will tour the school and classrooms, receive their class schedules, locker assignments, and review policies and procedures.

Grade 9 Freshman Orientation: We will be hosting an orientation for 9th grade students on Friday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. The purpose of this meeting/orientation is to review LHS policies and procedures and behavioral expectations and tour the building and classrooms.

Open House: We will also be hosting a Fall Showcase for parents and students on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. This will be a wonderful opportunity for parents to meet with teachers to discuss their student's academic expectations and learn about the positive learning experiences we provide for our students.

School Lunches: Lunch Express numbers will again be necessary for purchases of food from the cafeteria. The breakfast program will cost $1.40 per day and will be available in the cafeteria each morning. Lunch will cost $2.85 per day. Milk will cost $.50 per serving. Students are encouraged to prepay on each Monday morning for the week's meals. A free and reduced lunch program is also available for those who qualify.

Health Update: Students entering Grade 7 are required to have a measles booster prior to entering school. A signed physician's note with the date your child received the vaccine, must be on file in the Health Office. Students who can verify that they have already had a second measles vaccine do not need a booster. The State of New Hampshire also requires that students have a tetanus booster every 10 years. Please send documentation that your child is in compliance with this requirement to the school nurse. It is preferable that the required health-related documentation is on file in the Health Office prior to the start of school. At the latest, the required documentation may be given to the school nurse on the first day of school.

Fall Sports: All fall sports: boys' and girls' soccer, field hockey and golf for grades 7-12, start on Aug. 17. There is a mandatory meeting for all student athletes and their parent(s) and/or guardian(s) on Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Littleton High School cafeteria. This meeting is mandatory for any student to be eligible for fall sports. During the meeting we will be discussing co-curricular policy changes and meeting with coaches to sign contracts and health forms. Please bring any documentation regarding your child(s) physical exam. All students are now required to have a yearly physical exam on record with the school nurse prior to starting practice for an athletic team. Students must have all forms appropriately signed prior to the first practice. Gregory Fillion will continue as the athletic director for the high school and middle school. Any questions or inquiries regarding the athletic program for both schools should be directed to Judith Hazlett at (603) 444-5186, Ext. 2205.

Opening Day: The first day of school will be on Wednesday, Aug. 26 when students will receive important school-related information. Also on "Opening Day," students will be issued emergency medical cards and registration forms which will need to be completed by students and their parents. Students will be given a "Littleton High School/Daisy Bronson Middle School Student/Parent Handbook;" which contains the yearly school agenda, discipline code, and school calendar. Students are strongly encouraged to record their assignments in their "Agendas." Parents are requested to review the "Student/Parent Handbook" with their child and sign the form included where indicated. Completed forms should be returned to the school with their child on the following day.
