Senior Center Decorating Cans For Cookie Walk

Arlene Madore decorates cans last year in preparation for a Cookie Walk to benefit the Good Living Senior Center. The can decorating activity will happen again at the St. Johnsbuty Senior Center on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m., and seniors are welcome to join the fun.

Get creative this season at Good Living Senior Center. On Dec. 1 at 1 p.m., seniors can join home school students in decorating coffee cans with ribbons, bows, stickers and sparkles. Contributions of empty, small size coffee cans are welcome but not required. The decorated cans will be used at the Senior Center's Cookie Walk, which happens on St. Johnsbury's Victorian Holiday Festival on Dec. 10. There is no fee for the craft workshop, and hot chocolate will be served to all.

On Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m., seniors will have a chance to make some holiday crafts for themselves, family or friends. Diane Donovan from Americorps Neighbor to Neighbor will help participants create photo frame and other kinds of ornaments. Anyone planning to attend the craft workshop should bring a few two-inch diameter photos to insert in their ornaments. A small materials fee is requested for this activity.

Good Living Senior Center is located in the St. Johnsbury House on Main Street. The building is fully accessible. For information on these activities and other holiday events, please contact Susan at 748-8470.
