Tartan Terrors To Roll Into Lancaster

The Tartan Terrors will bagpipe, drum and dance their way into Lancaster on July 22.

The North Country is preparing itself for a wild night of Celtic song, dance and comedy when the Tartan Terrors hit Lancaster on Sunday, July 22.

Sponsored by the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts and slated for the stage at the historic Rialto Theatre in downtown Lancaster, the show features kilts, bodhrans and bagpipes. "Surveys show that here in New England, Celtic music is the biggest draws at performing arts venues," said Charlie Jordan, president of the GNWCA. "This will be our biggest blast of Celtic yet."

Taking the Celtic scene by storm, the Tartan Terrors are North America's premiere Celtic event. Bolstered by the blistering piping of a two-time world champion bagpiper, the driving tones of drums from around the world, and a guitar played unlike any you've ever heard, this all combines with championship caliber Highland Dancers.

Members of the Tartan Terrors have performed on four different continents, in some of the most prestigious festivals, Highland Games and theaters of North America, for President Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II, and on "Good Morning America."

Tickets are available in advance at the Rialto Theatre, 80 Main St., Lancaster and Fiddleheads, 110 Main St., Colebrook, as well as at the theater on the night of the show. For more information, call 631-1138 or 237-9302 or visit www.gnwca.org or www.lancasterrialto.com.
