WMRHS JROTC Raiders host White Mountain Challenge


JROTC RAIDER COMPETITION -- The White Mountains Regional High School JROTC (Junior Reserves Officers' Training Corp) Spartan Battalion hosted the third annual JROTC Raider White Mountain Challenge on April 20. The JROTC Raider Challenge is open to Army JROTC programs in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Teams compete in five events. Similar to a pentathlon, the JROTC Raider competition consists of an Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT), land navigation, JROTC academic exam, tactical one-rope bridge, and a 5-kilometer run. The White Mountains Regional Raider team placed first in all five events. With the team's strong performance, they placed first overall in the competition. The WMRHS JROTC Spartan Battalion concluded their season by competing at the JROTC Northern New England League Raider competition in Hiram, Maine on May 11. Members of the team include: kneeling from left, Christopher Cass, Cody Brownell and Anthony Cushing; standing, Joseph Dami, William Bash, Jacob Hanlan, Garrett McMann, Brandon Mason, Andrew Merritt and Coleton Hogan.
