No longer supporting John Rogers

To the Editor:

I am a Democrat who can no longer support John Rogers as a Vermont State Legislator. I am in favor of gun ownership for sport and hunting, and am not opposed to guns for personal protection, but there is no reason for more assault weapons and large bullet clips. They serve no purpose except to kill people, and provide money to the NRA.

The NRA has this to say about John Rogers:

"On behalf of NRA members in the Essex-Orleans Senate District, I am pleased to announce your "A" rating and endorsement by the National Rifle Association-Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) for the 2012 Vermont General Election."

-- Darin Goens, Vermont State Liason, National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund

I like John Rogers, but can never support a person who believes it is OK if more people get killed for no reason other than to make money for the NRA which contributes to their political campaigns.
