Planning board blunder

To the Editor:

I read with interest today's front page story about the blunder made by a member of the planning board. I have no doubt it was a thoughtless remark, but it certainly emphasizes that we should all be quite careful with thoughtless comments.

The planning board member must be very new to our region, or she would have known that the Lahout family is very highly regarded and has been for many years. Their contributions as citizens and as successful members of the business community in both Littleton and Lincoln should never have elicited such an ignorant and disrespectful remark. The woman certainly should resign or be removed from that board.
