Re-elect Mark Higley

To the Editor:

For the past four years the residents of Jay, Lowell, Montgomery, Troy and Westfield have been well served in the Vermont House of Representatives by Mark Higley.

Mark has a common sense approach to dealing with the issues and problems that confront the legislature on a daily basis. Mark also deals with these issues in a calm and professional manner and keeps everything in perspective be it in his committee or in debate on the house floor. He also has worked very hard for his constituents to ensure they are having their voices heard and concerns addressed.

This past session, Mark's district was changed as part of the constitutionally mandated re-apportionment process. The Government Operations Committee, of which Mark is a member worked countless hours on this bill. In the very end Mark had the fortitude and courage to vote against the Committee of Conference report and ultimately the final re-apportionment bill passage as he felt that it was not in the best interest of his constituents and his area.

I urge the voters in Mark's new district, the towns of Eden, Jay, Lowell, Westfield and that portion of Troy that is not in the Orleans 2 district to re-elect Mark Higley for another term as your representative.

Rep. Brian K. Savage

Assistant House Minority Leader

Swanton, Vt.
