To the Editor:
The front page article in Saturday Caledonian-Record in which the defeated candidate,Maurice Connary, of the Essex House Primary race questions the integrity of the winner Paul Lefebvre was outrageous. Mr. Connary is obviously a sore loser. Paul won that election in a landslide and for good reason. I have known Paul for over 40 years and contrary to the assertions of Mr. Connary he has a great deal of integrity. He is an honest, intelligent, hard working, respected individual both as a neighbor and citizen of Newark, and in his work as a reporter for the Chronicle.
Paul entered this race because of his love for Vermont and his desire to see the environment and ridgelines saved from the destruction of industrial wind turbines, and to find solutions for Vt. to grow in healthy ways so that we all can afford to stay here. He also believes in the very system that his opponent criticizes, where Vermonters can be independent thinkers and vote for the person that best represents them and not just on straight party lines. Paul will serve his constituents well in Montpelier.
